The video features a portal effect where the camera zooms into a portal and emerges in a new environment. To achieve this, we rigged up a system using multiple cameras and environments that were being run in parallel within the same 3D world, but at a distance. The portal object used a shader that showed the render target from the next world's camera, and the moment the active camera passed the portals threshold, the view would switch to the camera in the next environment. In addition to this we used a combination of interior and exterior environments, which allowed us to switch the exterior scene to another while the camera was in the exterior, and vice versa. It was an incredibly complex puzzle to solve, but all the more rewarding because of it. I really enjoyed figuring this one out with Sem, and am very pleased with how the final video turned out.
